A young Asian American sound artist grapples with her anxiety as it takes on new extremes at her first ever artist's residency. A horror film about imposter syndrome, communal eating, and performance.

About the Filmmaker

Annie Ning is a filmmaker from Suzhou, China and Wheaton, Illinois, now living in NYC.
She graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Film and English, and is in the M.F.A program for Screenwriting/Directing at Columbia University.
She was a 2020 Fellow at the Creative Visions Foundation Women Excel Project, & the BAVC Serial Storyteller Program in development of a hybrid docuseries on end-of-life care in China. Her first short film, Fishbowl, can be found on NoBudge.
Annie’s latest short film, Invasive Species, had its World Premiere at Palm Springs, where it was awarded the Special Mention for Best U.S. Student Short. It will have its International Premiere at Raindance in October 2023.
