Despite the changing world around them, Pearl and Henry enjoy the simple pleasures of their daily routine, finding comfort and peace in a connection built on decades of joy, vulnerability, and trust.

About the Filmmaker

Gibrey is an award-winning writer and director whose work primarily explores stories based on black and minority experiences. His latest short film 'Pearl and Henry' was developed through Tribeca Studio and premiered during the 2021 Tribeca Festival. His other films have screened at the New Orleans Film Festival, Brooklyn Film Festival, and BlackStar, to name a few.

'Right Near the Beach,' his feature film set in Jamaica, has already played in many festivals worldwide, garnering many nominations and awards. Already accepted in other festivals throughout the 2021 season, more audiences will see his film that explores sexuality in Jamaica and LGBTQ life dictated by homophobic minds and laws.
