Tired of not being respected as a serious gamer simply because she is a woman of color, avid African-American video gamer Tanya DePass decides to change the game.

About the Filmmaker

Tina Charles is the epitome of the modern-day athlete. She’s a 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist, 8-time All-WNBA player, 7-time All-Star, WNBA Rookie of the Year, WNBA MVP, and current player for the Washington Mystics.

Off the court, Tina is becoming known as one of sports most committed philanthropists. Tina is the founder of Hopey’s Heart Foundation, dedicated to raising awareness to sudden cardiac arrest through the placement of Automated External Defibrillators. Starting in April 2013, through the personal donation of her entire WNBA Salary, the foundation has placed over 400 defibrillators to date.

With her debut film, Charlie’s Records premiering in the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival and a successful partnership with Kevin Durant’s, “The Boardroom” highlighting WNBA players off-court business endeavors, the first time filmmaker is trending to be as impactful as she is as a professional basketball player and philanthropist.
